Plan de Educacion Con Estudiantes: Estado, Democracia y Ciudadania
“Education Plan for Students: the State, Democracy and Citizenship” is a youth informational workbook, available in Spanish, issued in 1999 by the “Citizen Participation” movement in the Dominican Republic. The workbook is comprised of six chapters and is meant to educate students on state, democracy and citizenship. The workbook focuses mostly on topics associated with political and public activities of the Dominican society, gives brief information about the three political powers and their attributes, the constitution and the citizens’ rights and responsibilities. Additionally it contains games and questions addressing the topics discussed in the workbook.

“The Partnership: Step by Step” is an informative bulletin, available in Romanian, published in 2000 by the International Foundation for Electoral Systems, and is intended to present an analysis of the partnership between the local public administration and the different Non-Governmental Organizations. The brochure includes a presentation of the structure and functions of the local public administration, the role of the NGOs, the partnership between NGOs and the public authorities. Additionally, it includes a section explaining how to write project financing project. Moreover it contains four annexes with the contact information for the county councils, the local sponsors, as well as the contact information for the NGOs assistance centers.

The document reports on electoral observation efforts, previous to the elections, on part of the civic education movement organization “Citizen Participation.” Additionally, the report contains some tables showing the total expenditure of political parties for political publicity on TV and radio.

“The Congressional and Municipal Elections and the Citizen Participation” is an informational booklet, available in Spanish, issued in 1998 by the “Citizen Participation” movement in the Dominican Republic, in lead up to the May 1998 Congressional and Municipal Elections in the Dominican Republic. In the first chapter of the booklet one can find the description of the Dominican Electoral System and its history, the meaning of the attributes of voting, and an insight into the role of the electoral authorities. The second chapter thoroughly describes the upcoming 1998 Municipal and Congressional Elections, while the next two chapters explain the role of citizens’ participation through the act of voting in the decision-making process of the Dominican society. Additionally, the booklet contains a table with the numbers of officials to be elected for each locality.

“How do I Vote?” is a voter graphic pamphlet, available in Romanian, issued in 2001 by the IFES, the Center for Democratic Participatory Development, and the Central Electoral Commission, in lead up to the 2001 Parliamentary Elections in Moldova, and intended to familiarize and stimulate voters with the voter registration process and the voting instructions. The pamphlet is a series of drawings accompanied by short explanations on the voting process.
