“Les Fruits de l’Illégalité sont Amers” is an essay, believed to have been published in 1998, which explains to readers that Haiti is at a decisive crossroads in between democracy and dictatorship. The crisis between Legislature and Executive is creating a political struggle and this document, available in French, provides historical information on the political development of Haiti with the reoccurring theme that in times of crisis, resorting to illegal activities has led to bitter consequences. The document also gives recommendations for solving this crisis with individual signatories agreeing to these points; yet the common source of the document is not listed.

Les mots ont la parole
“Les mots ont la Parole” is a booklet, available in both French and Creole and created by the International Civil Mission in Haiti, which features a story book about the Universal Declaration of Human Rights. The document, released in 1998, celebrates the 50th anniversary of the declaration of human rights by reaching out to children in Haiti and educating them about human rights and the importance of justice, equality, liberty, friendship and peace.
