Come Si Vota
“How to Vote” is an informative document, available in Italian, issued in 1996 by the Ministry of Interior of Italy, in lead up to the April 21, 1996 Italian General Elections. The document contains instructions on how to mark the ballot and the sample ballots to be used when electing the members of the Chamber of Deputies and Senate of the Republic. Additionally, it contains a brief explanation on the opening time of the polling stations and the ballots to be used in the elections.

“The Exercise of the Franchise in Trinidad and Tobago (1946-present)” is a September 1993 manual published by Trinidad and Tobago’s Elections and Boundaries Commission. The manual seeks to educate the public in Trinidad and Tobago as to the full meaning of and scope of the voting “Franchise.” The document provides a historical perspective with a timeline chronicling the development of democratic systems and the “Franchise” in Trinidad and Tobago.

Global Lessons and Best Practices: Fighting Corruption and Promoting the Rule of Law Through Transparency, Openness and Judicial Independence
IFES believes all countries, including China, should publish an annual State of the Judiciary Report that will serve as both an internal and external tool that can be used by multiple stakeholders for multiple purposes, including promoting and systematically reporting on needed reforms and key issues. It should be disseminated to the public at large, as well as to targeted stakeholders, such as the business and human rights communities, bar associations, judges, reformers, policy-makers and donors. We believe the publication and distribution of the report will increase the quality and quantity of concrete information on the judiciary, more transparency, accountability and public awareness, qualitative comparative research and valuable cross-country lessons learned and judicial competition.
