Global Trends in The Regulation of Political Finance
This paper deals with the role of money in politics, and in particular with certain efforts by countries around the world to regulate this role. In the current world (and probably since we first started organising ourselves politically), money in politics or political finance as we commonly know it is a central aspect of any political system, whether democratic or undemocratic, "developed" or "developing" and regardless of political culture or tradition.

Turning the Page: Malians Vote for a New President
On July 28, Malians cast ballots for their next President. This was the first nationwide poll under a new constitution adopted after a March 2012 coup d’état that overthrew then President Amadou Toumanu Touré.

Learning by Gaming: Democrapoli
Within its civic and voter education campaigns in anticipation of the Malian communal elections, the International Foundation for Electoral Systems (IFES), in collaboration with the Nigerien NGO Groupe de Recherche Action sur la Démocratie et les Systèmes Electoraux (GRADSEL), has developed an educational game called Democrapoli: Elections Communales Mali (Communal Elections Mali).

A Pre-Election Technical Assessment Report of Capabilities and Needs: July 8, 1991
Following a public revolt in Mali in 1991, IFES was contracted to conduct an in-depth analysis of the country’s progress in developing a new electoral system and drafting a new constitution, assess the interim government’s ability to administer free and fair elections and make recommendations for the elections. Regional Director on “The Elections We Want” in Africa
As part of its annual report, the Wilson Center Africa Program asked IFES Regional Director for Africa Rushdi Nackerdien to contribute an essay on recent African elections.
