Elections in Honduras: November 18 Primary Elections
On November 18, 2012, Hondurans will elect candidates from three major parties – the Liberal Party, the National Party and the Liberty and Refoundation Party – to compete in next year’s general elections for the presidency and vice presidency, and open seats in the Central American Parliament, National Congress, and municipal councils. Back in Haiti, Back at Home
IFES Chief of Party in Haiti Alessandra Rossi has over a decade of experience in electoral assistance projects. She recently served in Libya, where she supported the implementation of a voter education initiative targeting women, youth, voters with disabilities and rural communities in the eastern part of the country for the 2012 National Congress Elections with the United Nations Electoral Support Team in Libya. As she return to Haiti for the third time, she talks to us about the new program, and how it feels to be back in a country she says is like home.

Haiti’s Upcoming Elections
On November 28, Haiti will have the first round of presidential and parliamentary elections. These polls will determine who will be the country’s next president before the current government’s tenure expires in early February 2011. It will also allow for the replacement of a third of the Senate and the entire House of Representatives whose term expired last May.
