Voter rights and registration resource guide
“Voter Rights and Registration Resource Guide” is document produced in 1990 by the Texas Young Lawyers Association and designed to stimulate the voter turnout of eligible voters in Texas. The document is intended to help educate Texans about the importance of voting as well as the correct ways to exercise this right. Included in the document are important historical dates and brief descriptions of the events in the development of National Voter Rights under the U.S Constitution and a number of case studies on voting rights and the decisions involved. Additionally, after a brief description of the state voter registration, the document provides important information on Texas’s voter registration, voter qualifications, and the women’s suffrage movement.

A Guide to Conducting a Successful Voter Registration/Education Drive
“A Guide to Conducting a Successful Voter Registration/ Education Drive” is a Voter Registration Manual produced in 1991, as a result of a Texas voter registration drive program, by John Hannah, Jr., Secretary of State of Texas and intended to help community units plan and conduct effective voter registration drives among eligible voters to encourage voter registration. The manual discusses how to organize a voter registration drive, different methods of structuring the campaign, press and publicity coverage, materials required and ideas for following up after the drive has been completed. Additionally, it contains a 1992 Election Calendar with the most important dates of the 1992 Elections. The manual also contains a voter registration application sample to be distributed.

Alcohol & Drug Awareness Program
This 1991 booklet was designed to educate youth in the state of Georgia about the dangers driving when under the influence of drugs and alcohol. The literature describes the many adverse effects of drugs and alcohol and goes into detail about their physical, mental and emotional effects. The piece then goes on to describe the legal implications of being caught operating a motor vehicle while under the influence of alcohol. The document uses cartoons and interactive games to convey its message.

Written by the Harwood Group in June 1991 for the Kettering Foundation, “Citizen and Politics: A View from Main Street America,” focuses on the premise that the health of American politics is at risk and there must be a greater role for the citizen in American politics. This essay emphasizes citizens’ views on politics, community involvement, political participation, and potential improvements to the political system in order to better incorporate the individual.

“Presidential Classroom invites Students To… Experience a Week in our Nation’s Capital” is a brochure, released on July 10th 1991 by A Presidential Classroom for Young Americans which informs students of the 1992 Presidential Classroom program in Washington D.C. The document states that students will observe government interaction and meet with influential leaders as well as outlining the application process. The program is set to run on several different class dates throughout the year 1992 – a USA Presidential Election year.

Registration and Voting Information for the Elderly and Persons with Disabilities in Chicago
This booklet, published in October of 1991, was distributed to help elderly and disabled people from Chicago, Illinois. The literature contains information regarding how to deal with registering under a changed name or address, what the necessary steps for voting are and how to fill out a registration card as well as information regarding the assistance of the hearing impaired and handicapped. The piece also goes over absentee voting for a hospitalized voter. There is also a Spanish version of the document included.
