Information on the Volunteer Deputy Registrar Program
This pamphlet, published in Chicago, Illinois in January of 1994, was geared at educating the local electorate and spurring voter turnout. In particular the piece goes over voter qualification, what to do in the case of a changed name or address and it also touches on stipulations for people in the armed services and the handicapped. The piece came out in lead up to the November 8 congressional elections; there is a Spanish version of the document included as well.

This document, issued by Illinois State Board of Elections in 2003, was meant to supplement the broader “Local Election Officials Hand Book of 2003.” This particular book covers school and community college districts and was made to help officials from these institutions administer polling stations more efficiently. A list of candidates along with their area of residence is provide, furthermore, registration documents such as “petition for nomination” forms are included as well.

“Early Voting in Texas” is a voter handbook published in 1994, available in both English and Spanish, by the Elections Division of the Office of the Texas Secretary of State, in lead up to the 1994 Elections in Texas. The guide is meant to provide qualified voters with information about the early voting procedures, such as the time when early voting is conducted, the eligibility of the people who qualify for early voting and other information related to the early voting practices.

Sample Ballot Inside
Distributed by the Arlington Democratic Joint Campaign Committee prior to the 1996 presidential elections, this letter promotes the democratic candidates in both national elections and local Arlington elections. Proposed amendments to the Virginia constitution and Arlington county bond issues are also on the ballot. This pamphlet contains a sample ballot with the names of all candidates running for office as well as voting tips for Arlington residents.

This booklet was produced in 1989 by the Office of the Secretary of State of Iowa to educate “new comers” to the city of Des Moines. The piece includes sections on the city’s higher education, recreational opportunities as well as maps of the city and information on voting registration of new residents. Voter registration cards and details about what documents are necessary for a successful registration process the registration process are included in the pamphlet as well.

This is a publication printed by the “New York State Board of Elections” in 1990. The piece summarizes that year’s electoral and voting achievements. The November 6, 1990 congresional elections would be the first and only mid-term congressional elections of George H.W. Bush's presidency.
