Let's talk about voting
“Let’s Talk about Voting” is an information and activities booklet produced in 1991 designed to inform people about the importance of voting as a right as well as a responsibility. It also provides a short description of the history of voting in the U.S followed by the instructive steps one must take to learn about the correct procedure of voting. The illustrations, along with the games, are meant to serve as an educational tool for all the eligible voters.

Manual de Educacion Civica
“Handbook of Civic Education” is an educative manual, available in Spanish, and published in 1991 by the PARTICIPA Corporation of private law in Chile. The manual is intended to serve as a source of information, for students, on the theory of democracy and the historic analysis of the Chilean institutional system. The book consists of 2 parts divided in 12 chapters, the first part being the theoretical part based on the chapter dedicated to the Human Being and the Human Rights, the Person and the Society, the Political Regimes and so on, while the second part focuses on chapters focused on the historical analysis of the Chilean institutional system. Some of the chapters focus on the following themes: the Constitutional Rights and Guarantees, the Regional Electoral Tribunals, and the Constitutional Reform. Additionally, it includes educational exercise samples after each chapter.

“Vote Smart Studies” is a 1992 publication of “Project Vote Smart.” This booklet includes a description of the US political parties, a section called “The Voters Self Defense Manual” and a glossary of political terms. The literature was released during the 1992 presidential campaign. “Project Vote Smart” is a non-partisan and non-profit research organization.

This program is funded by the US Department of Education.

Young Texas Voters
“Young Texas Voters” is a voter handbook produced in 1992 by the Elections Division of the Texas Secretary of State’s Office, in lead up to the 1992 General Election, and intended to inform and stimulate Texas voters about the importance of exercising their right to vote. The handbook contains brief information about voter registration, voter qualifications, as well as it contains an Election Calendar with the most important dates of the 1992 General Election. Additionally, it contains a voter registration application sample followed by instructions on how to fill out one.

Your History as Theatre!
“Your History as Theatre!” is a pamphlet from April 1992, made in joint production by the National Assembly, the Director General of Elections in Quebec and the Minister of Education in Quebec, that provides plans for theatre activities to celebrate the 200 year anniversary of the Parliamentary Institutions in Quebec, coming up in 1992. The pamphlet is aimed at middle and high school students in the hope that this ‘historic theatre’ activity will raise awareness of the government system in Quebec.

Les eleves haitiens disent et dessinent les droits de l'homme
“Les Eleves Haitiens disent et dessinent les Droits de l’Homme” is a booklet which features poems in Creole and French and the drawings from Haitian schoolchildren obtained from a picture contest organized by UNESCO to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights. The booklet, published in 1998 in Haiti, is made up of many drawings, each followed by a poem on the subjects of justice, equality, liberty, friendship and peace.

“Youth’s Rights” is a calendar, available in Spanish, issued in 1998 by several Human Rights groups in collaboration with the Federal Electoral Institute in Mexico and designed to familiarize children with the rights they are entitled to. In the calendar, each month describes a childhood right.

Desafio Democratico
“Democratic Challenge” is a civic education handbook, available in Spanish, issued in 1998 by the “Decidamos” group in Paraguay and is intended to promote debates about democratic coexistence, knowledge about the functions to be held by the authorities to be elected in the next elections, and voting criteria among young Paraguayan citizens. The document contains activities with situation cards to be discussed in groups.
