By teaching the values of democracy to the readers and its importance, the booklet is meant to serve as an incentive for people to participate in creating a democratic Chile. “Democracy Can Also be Built in the Commune” is an Info-discussion guide, available in Spanish, issued in 1992, by PARTICIPA, Chile, in lead up to the June 28, 1992 Municipal Election in Chile. The guide provides a thorough description of the local administration in Chile, its election process and the role of the local authorities in the political life of Chile. The guide is meant to familiarize the Chilean citizens with the new reforms introduced by the political and social sectors in the municipal structure in order to bring the democratic process to the communal level as well. The guide refers to the functions of the municipalities, how they are elected and the attributions of the mayor and the regional councils. Additionally, the guide contains voting instructions and samples of election ballots, as well as an Election Calendar with the most important dates in the 1992 elections.

Published in Guyana in 1991 by the National Registration Commission, “Get Ready” is an election advertisement urging Guyanese citizens to register to vote before the May 17th, 1991 deadline. In preparation for the first free and fair elections in 1992, this advertisement argues that every Guyanese citizen over 18 has the civic duty to participate in the voting process.
