Emad Yousef, Country Director, Libya
Emad Yousef serves as the country director for the International Foundation for Electoral Systems (IFES) in Libya. Mr. Yousef brings nearly 20 years of experience in the field of democracy and governance, specializing in the provision of elections technical assistance and training across the Middle East and North Africa. Mr. Yousef has extensive experience working in both leadership and advisory roles with electoral process stakeholders, including election management bodies, relevant ministries and civil society organizations, in post-conflict and transitional contexts.
Prior to joining IFES’ Libya program, Mr. Yousef worked for IFES in Tunisia and Morocco, as well as with the UN Development Programme, Creative Associates International, UN Women and the Carter Center. He has a B.Sc. in Industrial Engineering/Management from the University of Jordan and a master’s degree in Democratic Governance from the European Inter-University for Human Rights and Democratization and Ca’ Foscari University.
