IFES Trains Haitian Disability Rights Advocates on New Advocacy Skills
On December 16, 2016, IFES conducted a training for persons with disabilities in Port-au-Prince, Haiti, on advocacy for communicating with government stakeholders. The training focused on the adoption and implementation of a strategy for disability-inclusive elections.

Electoral Administration Better Prepared For A Stronger Democracy
The International Foundation for Electoral Systems (IFES) and the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) in partnership with the Provisional Electoral Council (CEP) organized two workshops in recent weeks on the Building Resources in Democracy, Governance, and Elections (BRIDGE) Program. Sessions specifically focused on access to electoral processes in order to strengthen the professional capacity of Haitian institutions and to ensure an effective transfer of technical skills in the field of election administration.

Voter Education in Haiti
After a close and controversial first-round presidential vote in November, on March 20 Haiti held a runoff election for its top two presidential candidates, Mirlande Manigat and Michel Martelly. As part of its technical assistance to the CEP, and in close coordination and cooperation with other partners, IFES organized a public information campaign reminding voters to check their registration information, confirm the location of their polling station and cast their ballots on Election Day.

Une caravane de la paix en Guinée
Depuis mardi 15 juin et jusqu’au lundi 19 juin, des Guinéennes sillonnent leur pays au sein de la « Caravane de la paix ». Leur objectif est de promouvoir et d’apaiser les esprits avant les premières élections démocratiques qui se tiendront le 27 juin prochain. “Campagne nationale d’education electorale” is a pamphlet from May 2005, available in French, which educates readers about their right and responsibility to vote. The document, published with the help of IFES, prepares citizens for the 2005 Presidential Election in Guinea where they are strongly encouraged to vote. Additionally, the pamphlet provides information about voter registration and what to look for in a candidate.
