“Report about the Observation before the Congressional and Municipal Elections of May 16, 1998” is an informative report, available in Spanish, issued in 1998 by “Citizen Participation” in the Dominican Republic, in lead up to the May 16, 1998 Congressional and Municipal Elections in the Dominican Republic. The document reports on electoral observation efforts, previous to the elections, on part of the civic education movement organization “Citizen Participation.” Additionally, the report contains some tables showing the total expenditure of political parties for political publicity on TV and radio.

The crisis between Legislature and Executive is creating a political struggle and this document, available in French, provides historical information on the political development of Haiti with the reoccurring theme that in times of crisis, resorting to illegal activities has led to bitter consequences. “General Statutes: Citizens’ Participation” is an informational brochure, available in Spanish, believed to be issued in 1997 by the “Citizen Participation” movement in the Dominican Republic. The brochure describes the general ordinances for membership and internal activities of the civic movement organization called “Citizen Participation.” The brochure is comprised of six chapters indicating the goals, membership, structure and general dispositions of the organization, followed by a lay out of the declaration of principles that stand at the organization’s foundation of functioning.

“Enstriksyon sivik ak moral” is a teaching booklet from 1997, available in a Creole and French copy, distributed to teachers in Haiti that may be used in classrooms to teach 10 to 12 year olds about the political process in Haiti and civic duty.
