Women’s Political Participation in Honduras
A guiding principle of democracy is social and political inclusion. However, the full participation of women in public life is an ongoing issue in many countries, and Honduras is no exception, despite progress made in recent years. As part of the Consortium for Elections and Political Process Strengthening’s (CEPPS) 2012-2013 Honduras project, IFES and NDI completed the study Women’s Political Participation in Honduras. This publication provides recommendations to improve women’s participation in public decision making circles.

Elections in Honduras: November 18 Primary Elections
On November 18, 2012, Hondurans will elect candidates from three major parties – the Liberal Party, the National Party and the Liberty and Refoundation Party – to compete in next year’s general elections for the presidency and vice presidency, and open seats in the Central American Parliament, National Congress, and municipal councils. Political Finance in Post-Conflict Societies
This study of political finance in post-conflict society identifies lessons learned from international donor-funded efforts to support political processes in post-conflict environments in general and the funding of political parties and campaign finance in particular. The document consists of eight case studies that seek to improve our understanding not only of the political dynamics of post-conflict situations but also of how to rally international support for holding elections and supporting democratization under such circumstances.

State of the Judiciary: Honduras 2003
This State of the Judiciary Report for Honduras was written by Edmundo Orellana, J.D., an eminent Honduran lawyer specializing in judicial reform and author of numerous articles and books on this topic in his country and abroad. Dr. Orellana has drafted a number of documents that have now become laws on themes ranging from the “Status of the Career of Public Prosecutors” to the “Judicial Code of Ethics” and the “Public Prosecution Code of Ethics”. He has served in numerous public offices, including General Director for Administrative Reform of the Ministry of Planning, Coordination and Budget, Judge of the Administrative Chamber of the Court of Appeals, Attorney General, and Ambassador to the United Nations. This State of the Judiciary Report for Honduras was supervised and edited by FOPRIDEH, a Honduran nongovernmental organization dedicated to sustainable development, the formulation of sound public policies and the strengthening of democratic processes and institutions in Honduras. FOPRIDEH is a federation of non-governmental organizations that brings together over 70 affiliated organizations and various commissions and alliances with State institutions. We are especially thankful for the collaboration of coordinators Wilfredo Méndez and Ana Pineda in this project. This State of the Judiciary Report for Honduras was edited by Keith Henderson, IFES Senior Rule of Law Advisor, and Violaine Autheman and Sandra Elena, IFES Rule of Law Advisors, who are the authors of the Executive Summary and Chapter 1 of this Report. They are also responsible for the analytical conclusions in the tables that evaluate the level of compliance with the Judicial Integrity Principles which are included in the Executive Summary and in Annex 4.

IFES Bosnia and Herzegovina Voter Education and Civic Organizing Project, FINAL REPORT, Concerning USAID Indefinite Quantity Contract (IQC)
This report summarizes IFES efforts in Bosnia and Herzegovina to spread and enhance voter education and civic organizing. The report details ho IFES urges citizens to realize the information and tools to engage in the political process; help them understand that they have a right and an obligation to demand government accountability; assist them to develop the skills and confidence to approach authorities; and counsel them through the process of seeing their needs met.” The report also details IFES Citizens' Guides for a number of municipalities, with the goal of completing one in each municipality where IFES has a presence. These guides explain local government structure and the responsibilities of each agency and official and provide the municipal budget and phone numbers to contact officials.

Macedonia Final Report, May 2000-March 2002
This report summarizes IFES programming in Macedonia under the Europe and Eurasia Cooperative Agreement beginning with the 2000 pre-election technical assessment and concluding with initial 2002 parliamentary election preparations. Since April 2002, all IFES programming in Macedonia has been conducted under the CEPPS 2 funding mechanism and is covered in separate reports to USAID.
