Oliver Green, Senior Electoral Management Adviser, Papua New Guinea
The International Foundation for Electoral Systems’ Senior Electoral Management Adviser in the Autonomous Region of Bougainville, Oliver Green, is an experienced election professional with nearly two decades of experience supporting electoral processes around the world, beginning with the referendum in East Timor in 1999.
He has worked on over 30 electoral events in technical assistance roles with various United Nations agencies and with the European Union and Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe in observation, coordination and analytical roles. Career highlights include supervising electoral operations in central Iraq; engaging with civil society to provide voter education in Indonesia; and supporting electoral operations in East Timor. Green is now temporarily appointed to the post of program manager for the Bougainville Referendum Commission. He holds a master’s degree in development studies and a postgraduate certificate in electoral assistance and international observation.
