Vladimir Pran, Senior Elections Specialist, Middle East and North Africa
Vladimir Pran is a senior elections specialist with the International Foundation for Electoral Systems (IFES) with more than two decades of experience advising electoral authorities, governments and political leaders on election legislation and procedures in the Middle East and North Africa region. Pran first joined IFES in 2007 as country director in Palestine. Since then, he worked on electoral system design, delimitation of constituencies, voter registration, election regulations and use of technology in elections in Palestine, Pakistan, Somalia and Iraq. From 2001 to 2007, Pran worked with the National Democratic Institute, advising civil society organizations on electoral issues in Asia and Africa. In his native Croatia, Pran worked with the Croatian People’s Party and a Croatian election observation nongovernmental organization. Pran authored IFES’ guidebooks Monitoring Electronic Technologies in Electoral Processes and Using International Standards for Elections.
Pran holds a master’s degree in political science from the University of Zagreb. He is a native Croatian and Slovenian speaker and is fluent in English.
