Taking into consideration the intricate nature of electoral violence in Guatemala, IFES worked with local partners on several fronts to mitigate and prevent it during the 2019 general elections.

First BRIDGE Workshop on Electoral Administration and Accessibility Implemented in Guatemala
From January 31-February 1, IFES and a Building Resources in Democracy, Governance and Elections (BRIDGE) facilitator implemented Guatemala's first BRIDGE Electoral Administration and Accessibility training. Participants had the opportunity to learn more about electoral processes and discuss key aspects of their work and role in fulfilling citizens’ right to political participation.
