Partnering to Implement International Anti-Corruption Commitments
Last month, IFES participated in the Eighth Conference of States Parties to the United Nations Convention Against Corruption in Abu Dhabi. Earlier in the year, the IFES Regional Europe Office hosted an Expert Group Meeting on Transparency in Political Finance in support of resolutions taken by the conference in 2017.

The purpose of this report is to give a brief analysis of the Law on Political Financing which was published in the “Official Gazette of the Republic of Serbia” on 14 June 2011. This report summarizes IFES’ pre-electoral assessment regarding the parliamentary and presidential elections in Serbia from 1997. The report analyzes the internal strengths and weaknesses of Serbian election law and administration, and identifies and examines where the process was vulnerable to external influences and where it was open to independent monitoring.
