Guatemala’s Supreme Electoral Tribunal and USAID Formalize Cooperation on Electoral Processes
On March 26, Guatemala’s Supreme Electoral Tribunal (TSE) signed a letter of understanding (LoU) with USAID to formalize their cooperation through the Consortium for Elections and Political Process Strengthening “Electoral Governance and Reforms Program.” IFES worked with USAID and the TSE to finalize the LoU draft prior to the ceremony.

This report reviews IFES efforts in Azerbaijan in support of the USAID project Civil Society Better Organized and Represented. This report describes how IFES worked to encourage increased professionalism among election officials, provided training to elected officials, encouraged broader citizen participation and increased awareness on democracy and democratic governance. The report also details civic education tools used and discusses the challenges encountered and lessons learned from IFES program.

Written by Kosovo and international legal experts and signed on May 16th, 2001 by United Nations Administration Mission in Kosovo (UNMIK) Chief Hans Haekkerup, “Constitutional Framework for Provisional Self-Government in Kosovo” outlines the structure of government in Kosovo after the November 17th, 2001 general elections.
