Women’s Political Participation in Honduras
A guiding principle of democracy is social and political inclusion. However, the full participation of women in public life is an ongoing issue in many countries, and Honduras is no exception, despite progress made in recent years. As part of the Consortium for Elections and Political Process Strengthening’s (CEPPS) 2012-2013 Honduras project, IFES and NDI completed the study Women’s Political Participation in Honduras. Post-Election Public Opinion in Kosovo 2010: Findings from an IFES January 2010 Survey
The data collected after Kosovo’s first elections since declaring independence offer a unique snapshot of a young country optimistic, yet continuing to struggle with economic issues and divisions between ethnic groups. The 2009 municipal and mayoral elections were widely seen as well organized, free and fair, and voters report proper procedures taking place in polling stations. Still confidence in the power of the vote, while still fairly high, dropped between the 2007 and 2009 elections.
