Innovating in Response to COVID-19 Moves Cybersecurity Forward in Georgia
On March 31, the International Foundation for Electoral System (IFES) held a virtual signing ceremony in partnership with the Georgian Central Election Commission (CEC), information technology vendor UGT and the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) to launch cybersecurity enhancements to protect Georgia’s elections from malign influence. Voter Registration Improvement is a Priority for Iraqi Leadership
Having a reliable voter register is a key concern for election management bodies. An accurate voter register ensures voter access to, and the integrity of, the electoral process. Launched in October 2011, the International Foundation for Electoral Systems’ (IFES) Iraq Elections Support Project (ESP) provides technical assistance to the Independent High Electoral Commission (IHEC), the Iraqi election management body, in various areas including voter registration.

IFES President and CEO On Technology in Elections
In August, the Instituto Federal Electoral (IFE), the Mexican elections commission, hosted a four-day conference to explore key electoral topics, including challenges in the administration and organization of elections; political and media rights in elections; and access to electoral justice. The conference brought together election experts, practitioners and academics from all over the world as well as government officials. The event took place in Morelia, Mexico.
