Partnering to Implement International Anti-Corruption Commitments
Last month, IFES participated in the Eighth Conference of States Parties to the United Nations Convention Against Corruption in Abu Dhabi. Earlier in the year, the IFES Regional Europe Office hosted an Expert Group Meeting on Transparency in Political Finance in support of resolutions taken by the conference in 2017.

Ahead of International Anti-Corruption Day, IFES and the Central and Eastern European Law Initiative Institute met with local partners from Bulgaria, Montenegro and Romania to discuss the implementation of international anti-corruption recommendations in their respective countries.

This report summarizes IFES efforts in Gabonese presidential elections, held in December 1993. The report stresses the importance of this election because it was one of the first transitions on the African continent and the report discusses both the role of the Government in Gabon and the political parties running for election. Lastly, the report provides suggestions for the structure, administration and electoral code.

“Legal Paper Nr. 98126 E” is an informative document, available in Spanish, issued in 1990 by the MANO, a student government political party from the Nocturnal High school of Limon, Costa Rica, and addressed to the School’s Student Electoral Tribunal.
