The 1990 Bulgarian Elections: A Pre-Election Assessment, May 1990
This report summarizes the findings of an IFES pre-election assessment team in Bulgaria from April, 1990. The document reports on meetings with the Central Election Commission, leaders and representatives of political parties and leading citizens groups. Further, the report discusses the electoral process, the role of the constitution, electoral law, composition and role of the central electoral commission and regional electoral commissions, voter registration procedures, the methods of ballot security, vote counting and verification, and the contest and appeals procedure. It also discussed the role of political parties in the campaign and in the election.

Election Observation Report of the Elections to the House of Representatives, Republic of Croatia, 29 October 1995
This report was completed in 1995, shortly after the adoption of new electoral laws in Croatia. IFES election observers arrived to monitor the October 1995 Parliamentary elections. IFES concerns about the new election laws and the manner in which they were adopted along with the consequences of their adoption are discussed in the report. The report also provides a break down and explanation of electoral laws in Croatia.

An Orderly Rebellion: Bulgarias Transition from Dictator to Democracy, August 1990
This report discusses the June 1990 elections in Bulgaria. The report discusses the roles of the Bulgarian Central Electoral Commission, political parties and election officials. The document further discusses the role IFES played in the elections. The report ends with recommendations for the Bulgarian Grand National Assembly on how to improve the electoral system. On Sunday, April 4, Bulgarian voters will go to the polls for parliamentary elections. Voters will have the choice in more than 9,000 polling stations to cast their ballot by new voting machines or via paper ballot, which experts say may complicate the results tabulation process.

Celebrating International Women’s Day 2019 in Papua New Guinea
IFES celebrated International Women’s Day 2019 with counterparts in Port Moresby and the Autonomous Region of Bougainville, Papua New Guinea. The Port Moresby-based Papua New Guinea Electoral Commission hosted a celebration and luncheon, and the IFES team in Bougainville joined local civil society organizations and other partners on a peace march through Buka Town.
