First BRIDGE Workshop on Electoral Administration and Accessibility Implemented in Guatemala
From January 31-February 1, IFES and a Building Resources in Democracy, Governance and Elections (BRIDGE) facilitator implemented Guatemala's first BRIDGE Electoral Administration and Accessibility training. Participants had the opportunity to learn more about electoral processes and discuss key aspects of their work and role in fulfilling citizens’ right to political participation.

Memorandum of Collaboration to Strengthen Political Rights of Guatemalans with Disabilities
On April 8, IFES and Guatemala's National Council for Persons with Disabilities and signed a Memorandum of Collaboration (MoC) to enhance collaboration between the two organizations. IFES and CONADI have worked together since 2011, and the MoC demonstrates their enthusiasm and renewed commitment to continue working together for a more inclusive democracy in Guatemala.

A Look at Guatemala's 2015 Elections
Amid a tense political scene, Guatemalans went to the polls on September 6 for general elections, voting for President and Vice President, Representatives to the Guatemalan Congress and the Central American Parliament, and Mayors and Local Council Representatives. Since 2010, IFES has been working in Guatemala providing technical assistance to the Supreme Electoral Tribunal to strengthen its capacity to conduct inclusive, credible and transparent elections.
