Partnering to Implement International Anti-Corruption Commitments
Last month, IFES participated in the Eighth Conference of States Parties to the United Nations Convention Against Corruption in Abu Dhabi. Earlier in the year, the IFES Regional Europe Office hosted an Expert Group Meeting on Transparency in Political Finance in support of resolutions taken by the conference in 2017.

Political Finance in Post-Conflict Societies
This study of political finance in post-conflict society identifies lessons learned from international donor-funded efforts to support political processes in post-conflict environments in general and the funding of political parties and campaign finance in particular. The document consists of eight case studies that seek to improve our understanding not only of the political dynamics of post-conflict situations but also of how to rally international support for holding elections and supporting democratization under such circumstances.

“Building a Safer Country for All” is a civic education discussion guidebook, available in Spanish, issued by the Department of Political Science within the University of the Andes, Colombia. The guidebook is intended to encourage community participation in the effort to reduce violence and crime in Colombia through various means such as increasing the programs of social development, educating people in the spirit of civic and moral values, to stimulate young people to take part in community activities and/or to strengthen the judicial system and reform the police.
