Elections in Sierra Leone: 2018 General Elections
On March 7, Sierra Leone held general elections, with voters choosing their next president and representatives in Parliament and local councils. The elections represent the fifth straight general elections since the return to multi-party elections in 1996, and the third since the 2002 conclusion of the country’s civil war. New Program Will Engage Young Dominican Leaders with Disabilities
IFES announces its new program, in partnership with local disabled people’s organization Disability Alliance for Our Rights, “Promoting the Political Leadership of Youth with Disabilities in the Dominican Republic.” The program, made possible through the support of the United States Agency for International Development Disability Fund, will empower young persons with disabilities to make a difference in their communities by taking a more active role in political life.

Elections in Côte d’Ivoire: 2016 Legislative Elections
On December 18, Ivoirian voters will elect 255 members of the National Assembly, the lower house of Parliament. Following the approval of a new constitution via an October 2016 referendum, National Assembly members will be elected for four-year terms instead of five, as was previously the case.
