On August 8, 2018, the government of the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) announced that President Joseph Kabila will not be running during the country’s highly anticipated elections set for December 23, 2018. IFES Statement on the Crisis in Venezuela
IFES is deeply troubled by the continuing political and economic crises in Venezuela and the effort by Nicolas Maduro’s regime to legitimize its authoritarianism through the ballot box.
