Robust Multimedia Campaign Supports Liberia's Pivotal 2017 Elections
Conducting elections in Liberia is a challenging endeavor. Along with a lack of basic transportation and communications infrastructure, over half the population (53%) is illiterate. As such, civic and voter awareness campaigns cannot be conducted through many traditional mediums like print media. In partnership with the National Elections Commission and 27 grassroots civil society organizations (CSOs) in all 15 counties of the country, the IFES Liberia team developed a creative and compelling voter education and awareness campaign.

IFES Announces Winners of 2016 Photography Contest
Two compelling photographs depicting insightful moments of Election Day in India and voter registration in Nepal have won the top prizes of the International Foundation for Electoral Systems’ (IFES) 2016 Photography Contest. They were part of 10 photographs selected as finalists among the more than 100 images that were submitted to the democracy-themed competition.

How to vote in Maryland
This piece provides citizens of the State of Maryland information regarding the voting process for the November 5, 2002 mid-term elections. “Voter Rules and Responsibilities” was produced in 2002 by the league of women voters of Montgomery County, Maryland. The piece enumerates the qualifications needed for voters and also provides a list of voter resources and a brief voting timeline. The November 5, 2002 mid-term congressional elections would be the first of such elections during the presidency of George W. Bush.

“Election Information 2000” is a piece of civic education material that was released in Anne Arundel County, Maryland’s “Board of Elections.” The piece contains information on voter registration, absentee voting, polling places as well as a list of relevant election dates and deadlines. The piece was released in lead up to the November 7, 2000 elections that featured the presidential race between the Republican nominee George W. Bush and the democratic nominee Al Gore.
