Focus Group Findings on Perceptions on Women in Georgian Politics
From June 18–21, 2012, IFES worked with the Institute of Social Studies and Analysis (ISSA), a Tbilisi–based research organization, to conduct eight focus groups across Georgia to better understand the perceptions, opinions and perceived obstacles women face as political candidates and elected officials.

Elections in Georgia: 2017 Municipal Elections
On October 21, Georgians will go to the polls to elect their municipal government representatives. Across Georgia, citizens will elect 2,058 council members to 64 local councils (sakrebulos) of self-governing cities or communities. In addition, the mayor of Tbilisi as well as mayors of four self-governed cities and 59 mayors of self-governing communities will be elected directly.

Elections in Georgia: 2016 Parliamentary Elections
On October 8, Georgians will elect Representatives to the 150-member Parliament of Georgia (Sakartvelos Parlamenti) through a mixed parallel electoral system. Seventy-seven members will be elected through a closed-list proportional representation system to serve four-year terms.

IFES Delegation Meets with Prime Minister of Georgia
An IFES delegation, led by President and CEO Bill Sweeney, met with Georgian Prime Minister Mamuka Bakhktadze on September 18, in Washington, D.C. Memorandum of Understanding Strengthens Electoral Security Collaboration in Georgia
Georgia’s Central Election Commission (CEC) and Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA) signed their third consecutive Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on electoral security on September 12, 2018. The MoU outlines how the CEC and MIA will cooperate to ensure security for the October 28, 2018, presidential election and reflects an institutionalized cooperation that had not existed prior to encouragement from IFES in 2016.
