This health crisis has resulted in more than 1,350 reported deaths so far in a region that has been moving steadily toward peace and democratization. IFES Announces International Recipient of 2013 Democracy Award
The International Foundation for Electoral Systems (IFES) will honor the head of Mexico’s Federal Electoral Institute (IFE) with its 2013 Charles T. Manatt Democracy Award. IFE President Leonardo Valdés Zurita will receive the award on September 24, 2013 at a gala dinner in Washington, DC. IFES’ annual Democracy Award recognizes men and women who demonstrate a commitment to advancing freedom and democratic values.
