On August 8, 2018, the government of the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) announced that President Joseph Kabila will not be running during the country’s highly anticipated elections set for December 23, 2018. Kosovo Taking Steps Toward Gender Equality in Election Administration
The issue of low representation of women among Kosovo's election staff was raised for the first time in March 2014 in IFES' report on gender breakdown of election staff in the 2013 municipal elections. A series of advocacy efforts was carried out to raiss awareness of the benefits of gender diversity in election staff and to encourage the nomination of more women to these positions.

IFES Assists Youth “Superchangers” in Kosovo Amplify their Voices
Recent studies have identified the alienation of Kosovo youth from electoral, political and governance processes as a potential threat to the peaceful development of a unified society, and the basis for extremism and potential radicalization of youth by clerics and political interest groups. In light of these findings, IFES implemented a year-long program focused on youth engagement throughout Kosovo to help mitigate some of these issues.
