Manatt Fellow Presents on Election Dispute Resolution in Africa
In September 2019, IFES Manatt Fellow Tinashe Hofisi presented on presidential election petitions in Kenya, Sierra Leone, Uganda, Zambia and Zimbabwe at the 14th Annual Symposium of the Electoral Institute for Sustainable Democracy in Africa. He highlighted the unique jurisdictional tools available to apex courts in adjudication of presidential elections and their effect on judicial outcomes.

A creative partnership between disabled persons’ organizations (DPOs) and election-focused civil society organizations, AGENDA serves as a forum to improve access to political and electoral opportunities for persons with disabilities by increasing public awareness and elevating advocacy efforts that call for change.

IFES Statement on the Crisis in Venezuela
IFES is deeply troubled by the continuing political and economic crises in Venezuela and the effort by Nicolas Maduro’s regime to legitimize its authoritarianism through the ballot box. The July 30 election for a new Constituent Assembly was rife with fraud and undemocratic practices and we condemn the vote.
