Photo Gallery: Pacific Women with Disabilities Empowered to Advocate with Government Officials
IFES partnered with the Pacific Disability Forum to train 15 women with a diverse range of disabilities in September 2019 as part of the “Power to Persuade” program. The training enhanced participants’ public speaking and advocacy skills and provided a platform to share their work, highlight best practices and discuss lessons learned.

Participatory Budgeting Project to Be Implemented in Mexico City
On June 4, leaders of the Electoral Institute of Mexico City (IECM) visited IFES' headquarters to sign an agreement that marks the next phase of their longstanding partnership. With this “Enhancing Citizen Participation in Mexico City” agreement, the IECM will welcome IFES’ expertise for research on comparative experiences in participatory budgeting, and the organizations will work together to produce civil society workshops in Mexico City on participatory budgeting and domestic election observation.

On April 4-5, IFES co-sponsored the Ninth Forum on Latin American Democracy, hosted by Mexico’s National Electoral Institute in Mexico City. To better inform policy discussions, IFES facilitates comparative research and dialogue on challenges and innovation in elections and the rights of indigenous peoples. IFES also assists countries to meet United Nations Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples standards by holding inclusive national and local elections that respect language and traditional political institutions and practices.
