Haitian Delegation Participates in Election Observation Exchange Mission to Guatemala
From June 13-17, a delegation from Haiti’s Provisional Electoral Council (CEP) participated in an election observation and exchange mission organized by the Supreme Electoral Tribunal of Guatemala around the country’s June 16 general elections. IFES will continue to leverage its partnerships with election management bodies in the region to empower the CEP with additional tools and knowledge to institutionalize and reform its electoral processes

Guatemala’s Supreme Electoral Tribunal and USAID Formalize Cooperation on Electoral Processes
On March 26, Guatemala’s Supreme Electoral Tribunal (TSE) signed a letter of understanding (LoU) with USAID to formalize their cooperation through the Consortium for Elections and Political Process Strengthening “Electoral Governance and Reforms Program.” IFES worked with USAID and the TSE to finalize the LoU draft prior to the ceremony.

“Manual for the CACIF’s Electoral Observer” is an informative handbook, available in Spanish, believed to be published in 2003 by the CACIF, Guatemala in lead up to the November 9, 2003 Guatemalan General Elections. The handbook describes the concept behind the formation of the electoral observer’s group of CACIF, such as: the objectives, strategies, recommendations, the rights and responsibilities of the observers.
