IFES Statement on Electoral Assistance in the Dominican Republic
At the request of the Central Electoral Board and with support from USAID, IFES has been conducting a pre-electoral assessment of the electronic voting system to be used in the Dominican Republic’s upcoming municipal elections. We look forward to continuing to provide technical advice to the JCE before the municipal elections on February 16th and ahead of the general elections on May 17th.

Since 2007 when the United Nations General Assembly designated September 15th as the International Day of Democracy, organizations – governmental and nongovernmental – have joined with others to commemorate the importance of promoting and upholding principles of democracy. Haitian Delegation Conducts Exchange with the Dominican Republic’s Central Electoral Board Training Center
On April 2-5, IFES coordinated a visit for Haitian election officials to the Central Electoral Board’s Civil Status and Electoral Training Center in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic.
