Information communication technologies have created new vehicles for violence against women in elections. A new tool from IFES, the United States Agency for International Development and National Democratic Institute offers an adaptable method to measure the gendered aspects and understand the drivers of this violence.

"She Leads" Women’s Leadership Program Piloted in Nepal

Otito Greg-Obi Elected to Executive Committee of U.S Civil Society Working Group on Women, Peace and Security
On May 20, IFES Gender Program Coordinator Otito Greg-Obi was elected to the 2019-20 Executive Committee of the United States Civil Society Working Group (CSWG) on Women, Peace and Security (WPS). The CSWG is a nonpartisan, collaborative network of civil society organizations that provides technical assistance to governmental agencies seeking to integrate the WPS agenda into national security efforts.

Placing Tunisian Men at the Center of Promoting Gender Equality
A survey conducted the Tunisian Mediterranean Center found that 16 percent of Tunisian women who participated in a mobilization campaign responded that men in their families did not allow them to vote in the May 2018 municipal elections. To begin to break down this barrier, IFES piloted the first-ever “Male Allies for Leadership Equality” training in Tunisia.

Mobilizing Rural Women for Tunisia's Municipal Elections
