Burkina Faso’s political landscape changed dramatically on October 31, 2014, when President Blaise Compaoré stepped down after nearly three decades in power and fled the country. The 2015 elections offer an unprecedented opportunity for deepening citizen involvement in electoral and political processes, increasing citizens’ confidence in the integrity of voting processes and systems, and enabling young people to channel their new-found activism into peaceful political participation. The elections also carry considerable risk. Unless they are viewed as credible and their outcomes accepted as a legitimate expression of popular choice, alienated citizens, in particular energized young people, could be compelled to reject political processes they deem illegitimate or unfair.

Elections in Moldova: November 30 Parliamentary Elections
November's elections will once again feature democratic and liberal pro-European choice parties against the leading Communist Party, who governed the country from 1998 to 2009. As no single party is expected to gain a majority in the Parliament, November's elections will again result in a critical period of post-election coalition building to form the country's next government.

“Your Vote Counts” is a voter graphic pamphlet, available in Romanian, issued in 2003 by the Association for Democratic Participation of Moldova, in lead up to the May 25, 2003 Local Elections in Moldova, and intended to familiarize and stimulate voters with the voter registration process and the voting instructions. The pamphlet is a series of drawings accompanied by short explanations on the voting process.
