Elections in Timor-Leste: 2017 Presidential Elections
On March 20, Timorese citizens will vote to elect their next president. Eight candidates will by vying for the presidency in this election. If no candidate receives at least 50 percent plus one of the valid votes in the first round, a second round will be held on April 20, 2017. The 2017 presidential election is the first national election to be managed by the National Election Commission and Technical Secretariat for Electoral Administration without substantial logistical support from the United Nations.

Elections in Senegal: 2017 Parliamentary Elections
On July 30, Senegalese voters will elect the 150 members of the National Assembly. In total, 47 lists of parties and coalitions will present candidates for election. Elections in the National Assembly are divided into two portions. Ninety members of the National Assembly are elected through the majority system in the country’s 45 electoral constituencies. The other 60 seats are elected through proportional representation, with a national quota determined by dividing the number of valid ballots cast by the number of seats to be filled.
